You get to be a part of the action because our teachers are committed to making sure you are supported, involved and kept up to date about what is happening in each and every class.Your family gets to choose the songs you want to learn. We play them together right alongside the tuition songs chosen for the age and ability of your child. Many parents tell me about the frustrations they have about getting kids to practise in between music lessons. I am listening! I have been teaching for a long time and my own four children attended music lessons with a variety of other teachers. I know just how hard it is to get kids to practise at home all by themselves and then go to lesson all by themselves...a very lonely way to learn music, which is meant to be a fun, social experience.Sunshine Coast Kids Gig Bands offers an alternative to the pain associated with arguments over lack of music practise. When kids know they are practising to play in a group it makes a difference to the way they perceive practise.
No longer do they have to wait for years before getting rewarded for their hard work at home. Each band lesson becomes a jamming session and a mini performance with other players. Each person is accountable to the rest of the group.By becoming involved in your child’s music journey week by week you get to understand how it feels for them to tackle a musical instrument. Telling kids to “Go and practise” just doesn’t cut it anymore.Sunshine Coast Kids Gig Bands targets the core playing incentives kids look for in a lesson. We believe kids just want to be together, play together, learn and perform together and have a healthy level of challenge in their music lessons. Our on-going performance schedule supports students’ self-motivated practise. In addition to playing their own instrument, all kids get to learn about all the core band instruments...keyboard, guitar, drums and vocals. We have professional and qualified teachers in each of these instruments as well as rock-style band teachers.
