Winter Words for Warming Your Young Willing Thinkers
Pre-schoolers love playing with letters. Take advantage of their curiosity and make a unique learning game that you can play over and over in the cold winter months.Search for the word "COLD" in clip art and print out a copy that is not copy protected or make your own in big letters.Print the same letters in black capitals using a word program. I chose the whole alphabet as children can work out where the letters they have chosen come from.Cut up the black letters and lay the correct letters below the COLD word.Play a game to scramble and unscramble the black letters so they spell the word correctly.Your pre-schooler will love trying to trick you by spelling the word in unusual ways, even after they can spell it correctly! This is how your letter matching game will look on the floor or table. When you have finished this engaging activity, its time for a cuddle to warm up!Extend this game to use words for any season.
