Extension Activity Snowman, Snowman what do you see?

Extending your child's imagination opens pathways for him to start thinking independently. The "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you hear"? activity from the blog can be extended by using any animal or thing.Play "Snowman, Snowman, what do you see?" during a trip to the snow, or even after reading a book about snow or when cuddling up on a cold winter's night. Think of three items in your line of sight and ask your child to guess what you are thinking about. You can give clues if you need to. When your list of three items has been guessed correctly, ask your child to swap roles. Let him think of three items and keep them secret until you can "see" them in the room.Music Matters thinkers

This game can be extended again to remembering the three items you saw during your outing when you get home.Focussed seeing and focussed listening games help pass the time when waiting in lines, in the doctor's surgery or whenever you feel like having a little fun. Observe your child's change of mood when waiting just because you have asked him to play a game with you!
